Privacy
We work hard to earn and keep your trust, so we adhere to the following principles to protect your privacy.
We do not rent or sell your information to third parties for marketing purposes. Any information that you provide will be secured with industry standard protocols and technology
How to Contact UsIf you have questions or comments about this privacy policy, please email us at contact@docjobs.com.
1. Information Collected from Members
The purpose of the Services is to advance three goals: 1) to create a community of Members that can find each other, interact, network, and communicate on the website, 2) to allow Members to find employment opportunities with Employers that are seeking to recruit biomedical professionals, and 3) to allow Employers to search for and recruit talent among the Members.
We collect two types of information from our Members: Personal Information and Anonymous Information. 'Personal Information' means information that allows someone to identify or contact you, including, for example, your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, as well as any other non-public information about you that is associated with or linked to any of the foregoing data. 'Anonymous Information' means data that is not associated with or linked to your Personal Data; Anonymous Data does not permit the identification of individual persons.
We collect Personal Information and Anonymous Information in the following ways:
Information You Provide to UsWhen you register as a Member, you are required to give Personal Information (such as name, country of residence, and email address), and a unique identifier (password). The only fields that are required during registration are: first and last name, email address, country of residence, zip code and password]. However, in order to make Dropoutclub a more useful resource to both Members and Employers, we encourage Members to provide as much information as possible regarding their professional and educational backgrounds, current and past employment history, medical specialty or scientific expertise, or profile photo. Providing such information is completely optional, and choosing not to provide this information will not affect your ability to browse the Profiles or use the Services.
During registration, we provide Members with the option of importing certain Content from LinkedIn in order to facilitate the registration process. If a Member chooses to allow access to a LinkedIn account, Dropoutclub may store information from a Member’s LinkedIn profile in our database.
All of the information that you voluntarily provide except your email address will be included in your Profile, which is accessible to any Member (including Employers).
Messages you post on the Forum and Chapter sections of our Sites will automatically post with your name. The information contained in your posting, including any Personal Information, will be stored on our servers and other Members will be able to see it.
You might also provide Personal Information if you provide us feedback or otherwise contact us via e-mail. We collect other types of Personal Data that you provide to us voluntarily, such as operating system and version and other requested information if you contact us via e-mail regarding support for the Services.
If you have any hesitation about providing such information to us and/or having such information displayed on the Sites or otherwise used in any manner permitted in this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use, you should refrain from providing the Content.
Your email address is not posted in your Profile, and we will use it only to send you communications that you elect to receive, including employment opportunities, notice of social and networking events, and product updates. You can, of course, opt not to receive these communications.
When You Add a Profile
Once you have completed the registration process, you may at any time provide additional Content to your Profile. Such Content includes, without limitation: employment history, educational and training history (medical school, internship, residency program, fellowships, post-doctoral training). Providing additional Content is entirely optional, but enables you to better identify yourself and find opportunities through the Services to build and leverage your professional network as well as to find employment opportunities with Employers.
All of the information that you voluntarily provide will be published in your Profile, which is accessible to any Member or Employer, except your email address. Any information you provide to us, whether during the registration process or as an update to your Profile, may be used in the same manner and extent to which other information is permitted to be used hereunder, including for the purpose of serving advertisements through the service.
When You Invite Others to Join DropoutclubIf you wish to invite others to join Dropoutclub, you can do so using your contacts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail, Outlook, and other similar social networking and email service providers. Alternatively, you may enter their names and email addresses, which Dropoutclub will use to send your invitation including a message that you write. The names and email addresses of people that you invite will be used only to send your invitation and reminders.
When You Contact Customer SupportDropoutclub may collect information through our website or through Customer Support in order to, among other things, accurately categorize and respond to your inquiry and deliver appropriate service levels.
Information Collected via TechnologyOur servers (which may be hosted by a third-party service provider) collect Anonymous Information and Personal Information from you, including browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address (which might vary from session to session), domain name, and/or a date/time stamp for your visit.
CookiesWe may receive data from our Members as part of the communication connection itself, that is, the standard electronic greeting between the Member’s computer or mobile device and our servers. This information often consists of network routing, equipment information (device or browser type), location, date and time. We use cookies and navigational data like Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) to gather information regarding the date and time of your visit and the solutions and information for which you searched and that you viewed.
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website sends to your computer’s hard drive while you are viewing a web site. Standing alone, cookies do not identify the Member personally; they merely recognize the Member’s browser. The only Personal Information a cookie can contain is information the Member supplies. A cookie can’t read data off the Member’s hard disk or read cookie files created by other websites.
Cookies come in two flavors: session and persistent-based. Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from the Member’s computer when he closes his browser software or turns off his computer. Persistent cookies remain on the Member’s computer after he has closed his browser or turned off his computer. They include such information as a unique identifier for the Member’s browser. Persistent Cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions. If you choose to disable Cookies, some areas of our Site may not work properly.
We use session cookies containing encrypted information to allow the system to uniquely identify the Member while he is logged in. This information allows us to process our Members’ online transactions and requests, to enhance security and to improve the functionality of the Site by avoiding duplicate data entry, and facilitating navigation. Session cookies help us make sure the Member is who he says he is after he has logged in and are required in order to use the Service. We use persistent cookies, which only we can read and use, to identify the fact that the Member is a Member or prior visitor to our Site, as the case may be. We are especially careful about the security and confidentiality of the information stored in persistent cookies. For example, we do not store passwords in persistent cookies.
While we do not offer an opt-out on the Sites for cookies, browsers provide you with information about and control over cookies. If you disable your web browser’s ability to accept cookies, your access to and usage of the Service could be denied.
Log FilesWhen you use the Service, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser or mobile platform, including your location, IP address, cookie information, and the page you requested. In addition, we use log files to track data stored using the Service to the appropriate Member. Except for the purpose of tracking Members’ message posting frequency, and other information required to enhance your usage of the Service, information gathered from log files, such as IP addresses, are not linked to Personal Information.
Clear GifsWe may employ clear gifs (also known as web beacons) to track the online usage patterns of our Members. This information is Anonymous Information; no Personal Information is collected using these clear gifs. In addition, we may also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our Members to track which emails are opened by recipients. The information is used to enable more accurate reporting, improve the effectiveness of our marketing, and make the Service better for our Members.

The supplying of all such information by you to Dropoutclub, including all information deemed 'personal' or 'sensitive' by applicable law, is entirely voluntary on your part. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use, but please note that your withdrawal of consent will not be retroactive.

The information you choose to provide about yourself on our Sites is used to help you describe yourself to other Members and to Employers. If you close your Dropoutclub account, we will remove all of the personal information that you have provided to Dropoutclub from our publicly viewable database, as well as any private Profile information that you have stored with us. Other information that does not personally identify you as an individual is collected by Dropoutclub from Members (such as, for example, patterns of utilization) and is exclusively owned by Dropoutclub. This information can be utilized by Dropoutclub in such manner as Dropoutclub, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate.
Dropoutclub's Communications to YouDropoutclub will communicate with you through email and notices posted on the Dropoutclub website or through other means available through the service. If we send any communications to you via the carrier service with which you have a mobile communications subscription or otherwise have access, you understand you will pay any service fees associated with any such access. Our communications to you include emails which help inform Members about various features of the service. Dropoutclub may send you promotional information unless you have opted out of receiving such information. You can change your email and contact preferences at any time by updating your Profile information.
Sharing Information with Third PartiesDropoutclub takes the privacy of Members very seriously. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your Personal Information to third parties for marketing purposes, but we do provide your Personal Information to Employers that are seeking to hire Members. We may provide data about the usage of our services to third-party service providers with whom we contract to help us provide our Services. For example, we may work with vendors, consultants or other third parties to host and maintain our data and website properties, analyze our data, or provide marketing assistance. All contracted third parties must agree not to use your personal information and communications other than to fulfill their responsibilities to us and are bound by confidentiality agreements with regard to their use of such information. We may provide aggregated anonymous data about the usage of our services to third parties for such purposes as we deem, in our sole discretion, to be appropriate, including to prospective investors in Dropoutclub. We may segment our Members by medical or scientific specialty, education, training, current employment or employment history, geographic location or other similar information and provide information from your Profile as part of our Services and product offerings. If you would like to be excluded from the aggregated research or products based upon aggregated or segmented data and Members’ activities on the site, please email contact@docjobs.com.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may disclose Personal Information to third parties if we believe that such action is necessary to (1) enforce the Terms of Use, (2) comply with applicable law, (3) comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or other legal process, (4) protect and defend our rights or property, or (5) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of our Members or the public.
Search - ProfilesWe offer search services to help you find information and learn more about other Members (for example, you can search for Members with particular expertise, that work at a particular company, or that you may know from your medical or graduate school). We use information from Member Profiles and other contributions to Dropoutclub to inform and refine our search service. Member Content you post will become available for other Members to view.
Surveys and PollsAs a Member, you may receive requests to participate in market research including polls and surveys. You may opt-out of participating by electing this option in your Profile.
Legal DisclaimerIt is possible that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law, such as responses to civil or criminal subpoenas, or other requests by law enforcement personnel. We will disclose such information when we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, subpoena, or other legal process or request to Dropoutclub brought in any country throughout the world, or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
Disclosures to othersWe may also disclose your personal and other information you provide to a third party as part of a financing, a reorganization or a sale of substantially all of the business of Dropoutclub. Any third party to which we transfer or sell Dropoutclub’s assets will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information that you provide to us.
3. Your Information Choices
Accessing and Changing Your Account InformationYou can review the Personal Information you provided us and make any desired changes to the Content you publish, or to the settings for your Dropoutclub account, including your email and contact preferences, at any time by updating your Profile on the Dropoutclub website. Please be aware that even after your request for a change is processed, Dropoutclub may, for a time, retain residual information about you in its backup and/or archival copies of its database.
Closing Your AccountYou can close your account at any time by emailing contact@docjobs.com, or deleting your account online. If you close your Dropoutclub account, we will remove all of the information that you have provided to Dropoutclub from our publicly viewable database. We may retain certain Content posted by you if we believe it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated Anonymous Information, account recovery, or if required by law.
Dropoutclub may also retain and use your information if necessary to provide the Services to other Members. For example, just as an email you may send to another person through an email service provider resides in that person's inbox even after you delete it from your sent files or close your account, communications to other Members may remain visible to others after you have closed your account. Similarly, other information you have shared with others, or that other Members have copied, may also remain visible. Dropoutclub disclaims any liability in relation to the deletion or retention (subject to the terms herein) of information or any obligation not to delete the information. Dropoutclub does not control when search engines update their cache, which may contain certain public profile information that has since been removed from Dropoutclub's publicly viewable database.
To request that we close your account and remove your Content from the Dropoutclub website, please send your request to contact@docjobs.com. Please send your request using an email account that you have registered with Dropoutclub under your name. You will receive a response within five business days of its receipt.

If, at any time after registering with the Service, you change your mind about receiving information from us or about our use of your Personal Information as provided in this Privacy Policy, you can specify your new choice by changing your preferences in your Member Profile. When you receive promotional communications from us, you may indicate a preference to stop receiving further communications from us and you will have the opportunity to 'opt-out' by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the e-mail you receive. However, you may not opt out of notices of any updates to our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy.
Managing Personal InformationIf your Personal Information changes (such as employment history or email address), you can correct or update your Personal Information in your Member Profile.
