Location: California (LA, SD, SF) preferred, though this role is ~70%+ remote

Role: Chief Medical Officer / VP Clinical

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, clinical leader who believes in precision medicine and has an expertise in skin health. As the CMO or VP of Clinical, you will build out and manage the clinical team at Parallel, ensuring exceptional clinical care to Parallel’s patients and community. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a culture of excellence, is energized by working in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable with change, is excited by skin science innovation, and is inspired to improve the delivery of skin health to all.

As a key member of the executive team, you will work closely with the CEO and CSO to integrate our cutting-edge science technology with the clinical experience to deliver next-generation skin health, powered by genomics, skin microbiome science, and machine learning. By doing so, you will create novel solutions and advance the quality of care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

People Management and Clinical Leadership:
* Work closely with the executive team to build out the clinical practice at Parallel
* Work closely with the technology team to develop an on-boarding and patient user experience that is elegant and clinically sound
* Manage a team of (virtual) medical providers
* Serve as Parallel’s clinical leader with clinical partners, health systems, training institutions, local health departments and beyond
* Train and provide clinical leadership and mentorship for clinicians
* Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring future providers
* Contribute to the revision and approval of policies, protocols, and network clinical guidelines to provide effective care

Patient Care:
* Uphold Parallel’s mission of excellent, innovative, and holistic medical care
* Ensure high patient satisfaction but with a regard for the highest clinical quality
* Integrate science and technology into the clinical practice
* Continue to evaluate clinical appropriateness of new medical technologies and programs, and make recommendations concerning the relevance of such technologies and programs.
* Maintain licensure and appropriate re-certifications

Qualifications:
* MD or DO, with a specialty or expertise in skin health
* Completed an accredited residency program
* Experience managing a team of clinicians
* Experience in telehealth and providing virtual medical care
* State medical licensure in good standing in the state of California+
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Authorized to work in the US

Pluses:
* A strong understanding of & interest in the microbiome and how it relates to inflammation
* Interest in novel approaches that can be integrated into clinical care
* Licensed in multiple states
* Experience working in the start-up environment
