Senior Research Associate - Large-Cap Biopharma

We are looking for a Senior Research Associate in New York to join Bernstein’s US Large-Cap BioPharma team. Our Senior Research Associates play an important role in producing the research Bernstein is famous for: unbiased, independent, thematic, collaborative, data-driven, and always differentiated. You will develop relationships across the investing community and become a thought partner to our clients. You will work closely with your team but also have a high degree of autonomy and independence.
As a Senior Research Associate, you will:
- Become an industry expert working one-on-one with a Senior Analyst who has years of prior industry experience in consulting and management roles
- Become highly proficient at in-depth analysis of your companies, stocks, and industry themes
- Author highly differentiated written research that is famous for its deep industry insights and quantitative frameworks, including our signature Blackbook product
- Become adept at financial forecasting, including building detailed forward-looking models
- Build strong relationships across the investing community including our sales and trading teams and institutional clients
- Build a network within the biopharmaceuticals industry including senior managements of your companies
- Act as team COO and actively manage the franchise’s workflow

For this role we will give preference to candidates with:
- Strong finance background and skills, including professional and/or academic backgrounds (e.g., MBA, CFA or CPA)
- A scientific or healthcare-oriented academic background including research
- Exposure to the scientific, regulatory and/or commercial dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry

In accordance with Section 8-107(32) as set forth in the New York City Human Rights Law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:
Base Salary Range: $150,000 to $175,000
Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
