Alpine Immune Sciences is seeking an energetic, hard-working, and creative Senior Manager, Investor Relations and Corporate Development reporting to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy. The successful candidate will work with senior management to develop and execute Alpine’s investor relations strategy, manage the Company’s relationships with the financial community, and assist in strategic planning. The Senior Manager, Investor Relations and Corporate Development will develop a comprehensive investor targeting strategy to continue to broaden and diversify Company shareholders, proactively engage with sell-side analysts on a continuous basis, and design, schedule and execute key events such as quarterly earnings calls, analyst events, press releases, and other corporate activities. In addition, the successful candidate will perform business development activities, including financial modeling, competitive intelligence, and participation in partnering activities. This is a critical leadership position within the Company. As such, the successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, Chief Financial Officer, and other executives to formulate Alpine’s overall investor relations and corporate development strategy.
 
Key Responsibilities
·         Develop a deep and thorough understanding of the Company’s pipeline and corporate strategy; support the delivery of this strategy to both internal and external audiences through clear and compelling written and oral communication, in compliance with corporate policies and securities regulations.
·         Proactively engage with buy-side and sell-side research community.
·         Lead the development and implementation of a targeted investor relations strategy to maximize the Company’s long-term value creation and ensure the consistent presentation of that strategy across all messaging.
·         Act as the liaison for Alpine’s investment banking interactions to effectively leverage investment banking capabilities cross-departmentally while optimizing management time with these stakeholders.
·         Oversee preparation of the quarterly press release and slide deck.
·         Monitor industry and competitor developments, alert management and prepare proactive and reactive plans as needed.
·         Monitor Wall Street analysts’ models and estimates, compile internal quarterly consensus for multiple company stakeholders, and communicate quarterly consensus to external stakeholders, when necessary.
·         Conduct periodic, in-depth, investor targeting exercises and maintain a target investor list.
·         Contribute to Company press releases and periodic disclosures.
·         Support financing activities, including implementation of financing strategy, managing relationships within the banking community and executing financing activities.
·         Maintain the IR calendar, which includes strategic decisions on Company and executive participation in investor conferences, non-deal roadshows and analyst/investor meetings.
·         Work with the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy to evaluate and execute corporate and business development transactions.
·         Conduct strategic analyses (e.g., competitive landscape assessments, gap analyses, comparable deals, etc.) required to assess and execute partnership and collaboration opportunities.
·         Support the creation of materials for board meetings and external audiences (e.g. corporate deck, investor days, company website).
·         Assist in managing on-going partnership and alliance activities, including the tracking, documentation and status reporting of all collaborations along the business development pipeline.
·         Ability to travel 10-25% of the time, including occasional off-hours and weekend work for events and medical and partnering meetings.
 
Education, Experience, Skills
·         Undergraduate degree in biological sciences and/or engineering.
·         MD and/or PhD in life sciences strongly preferred.
·         3-5 years of successful experience in biotech/pharma investment banking, equity research, management consulting, or biotech/pharma corporate strategy and corporate communications.
·         In-depth understanding of the drug development process, small molecules, biologics, and other platforms in immunology and/or oncology.
·         Strong analytical, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities coupled with an understanding of financial accounting and valuation.
·         Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple work streams and deadlines, balance opposing priorities and communicate effectively.
·         Excellent written and oral communications skills.
·         Self-starter with initiative and ability to execute once strategies are set.
·         Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
·         Strong project management skills; highly organized and detailed-oriented.
·         Knowledge of MS Office applications and especially strong in Excel and PowerPoint.
·         Experience/familiarity with social media strategy, tools, and technologies (e.g., Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn)
