Job Description
What: This is an opportunity to join an elite, experienced group of people from the ground up. You will be instrumental in constructing a biotech portfolio and foundational to the culture. If you are a creative problem-solver, excited to take ownership and responsibility, and prepared to play a key role in establishing a successful biotech fund, then this is for you.
Strategy: Fundamental-value based, equity long/short hedge fund focused on mid and small cap therapeutics, with the ability to lead deals both public and private.
Role: Senior Investment Professional
Timing: Immediately
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the CIO to deploy capital
- Evaluate companies and efficiently narrow in on the most promising opportunities for further diligence
- Conduct robust, process-oriented, and relevant fundamental analysis on those potential investments, including analysis of: preclinical assays, medical literature, clinical data, statistics, financial modeling, regulatory documents, financial filings, intellectual property, market considerations, valuation, and other
- Travel as needed to conferences
- Maintain proprietary databases and work with the CIO on portfolio considerations

Requirements:
- Several years of buyside therapeutics experience (preferably fundamental value orientation, long/short)
- Strong, relevant, academic background (Masters, PhD, PharmD, MD, undergraduate hard science degree)
- Complete fluency in the English language to ensure effective collaboration among team members

- Strong modeling skills in Microsoft Excel, with a plus if there is familiarity of any programming languages such as Python
Location: Southeast U.S.
Compensation: Competitive, with participation in fund performance
