Role: Blackstone Life Sciences, Sr. Associate (Medical Technology)
We seek to create positive economic impact and long-term value for our investors, the companies we invest in, and the communities in which we work. Our BXLS investment process combines life science product assessment, forecasting, and commercialization with the strategic thinking and financial analysis of private equity investing.
The Senior Associate (Medical Technology) is a member of the team focused on investments in medical devices, diagnostics, and life science technologies. The team focuses on co-funding or acquiring late-stage developmental and early-stage commercial innovations, often partnering with leading medical technology firms. Senior Associates work on identifying potential investments, evaluating deals across the pipeline, the monitoring of the current portfolio of investments, analysis of potential exit opportunities. Senior Associates are involved in transaction due diligence, valuation analysis, and negotiation of contracts and other agreements. This role will also have the opportunity to contribute more broadly with BXLS’s investments in pharmaceuticals and other areas of healthcare.
Qualifications and Candidate Profile
Candidates for this position will likely have academic and work experience that offer a mix of medical knowledge, analytical skills, and investing/finance skills.
Ideal background includes:
MD+MBA, biomedical engineering, and/or other degrees focused healthcare product development and commercialization
1+ year work experience in healthcare PE/VC, investment banking, consulting, late-stage med tech product development & commercialization, or med tech business development post graduate degree
Extensive analytical skills and intelligent
Finance skills a plus
