Job Description

About Reticular

Reticular is a Y Combinator-backed reproductive genomics company founded by MIT and Stanford alumni who met competing in the International Biology Olympiad. We’ve raised a $4.3 million seed round led by CRV and BoxGroup to build affordable genetic testing for patients whose pregnancy losses remain unexplained after standard chromosome testing.

Our first product uses parental whole-genome sequencing to evaluate variants across more than 500 genes implicated in infertility and pregnancy loss. When existing embryo or pregnancy-loss genotyping data are available, our imputation methods can infer additional inherited genomic information without requiring another embryo biopsy. The test is designed to fit into existing fertility-clinic and laboratory workflows, cost $500 to $1,000 for self-pay patients, and include support from an in-house board-certified genetic counselor.

We are preparing to launch the test as a laboratory-developed test within the next two months. Over time, we hope to build the prospective dataset needed to improve our understanding of the genetic causes of euploid pregnancy loss and bring stronger evidence back into clinical care.

About the role

We are looking for a practicing, recently practicing or well-connected retired REI physician to help introduce Reticular’s pregnancy-loss test to fertility clinics.

This is a flexible, part-time advisory role for someone who can explain emerging reproductive-genetics research clearly to other clinicians, understand how fertility practices evaluate new tests, and help Reticular build trusted relationships with REIs, medical directors and laboratory directors.

This is not a patient-care role or a passive advisory-board position. You will work directly with Reticular’s founders on clinical education, product positioning and clinic partnerships.

What you’ll do

Initial objectives

During the first three months, we expect this advisor to:

  • Complete onboarding on Reticular’s science, evidence and workflow.
  • Review and refine our clinical pitch deck and supporting materials.
  • Participate in approximately 10 clinic conversations.
  • Make at least five qualified professional introductions.
  • Attend one relevant conference or in-person clinic meeting, if mutually scheduled.
  • Help Reticular work toward two initial pilot-clinic partnerships.

These are collaborative objectives, not commission-based sales quotas.

Who we’re looking for

  • Board-certified or board-eligible reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist.
  • Current or recent experience practicing within a fertility clinic.
  • We also welcome retired REIs with strong, current relationships in reproductive medicine.
  • Familiarity with recurrent pregnancy loss, reproductive genetics, PGT, carrier screening or genetic testing.
  • Able to explain technical scientific concepts clearly and credibly to other clinicians.
  • Comfortable participating in commercial and partnership conversations.
  • Strong professional reputation and relationships across fertility clinics or professional societies.
  • Willing to travel occasionally for conferences or clinic meetings.
  • Able to identify and comply with institutional conflict-of-interest and outside-activity requirements.

OB-GYNs with substantial fertility or recurrent-pregnancy-loss experience may also be considered.

Engagement and compensation

  • Independent-contractor position.
  • Approximately 4–8 hours per month initially.
  • $300–$500 per hour, depending on experience, specialization and scope.
  • Travel expenses reimbursed separately.
  • Conference and clinic travel compensated under an agreed half-day or full-day rate.
  • Opportunity to expand into a larger medical advisory position or a full-time Medical Affairs or Clinical Partnerships leadership role.

Compensation is for bona fide advisory and professional services and is not based on patient referrals, test orders or clinic revenue.

How to apply

Please send a CV and a short note describing:

  • Your current or most recent clinical practice.
  • Your experience with pregnancy loss or reproductive genetics.
  • The kinds of fertility clinics and professional communities you know best.
  • Why translating emerging pregnancy-loss genetics into clinical care interests you.
  • Any restrictions on outside consulting imposed by your employer or institution.
