Job Title: Oncology Analyst (MD or Ph.D), Invus Public Equities

Job Summary:

Invus is seeking an MD and/or Ph.D to join our seasoned investment team as an Analyst. The Analyst will work from Invus’ office in New York, NY and will focus on public and private investments in Oncology. The individual in this role will conduct diligence on small- and mid-cap Oncology companies under the guidance of senior investment team members and the portfolio manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fundamental due diligence on existing and new potential investments in Oncology. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Analyzing preclinical and clinical data for development stage therapies
    • Searching for and analyzing medical/scientific literature
    • Understanding treatment paradigms and areas of unmet need
  • Participate in investor and medical conferences, interact with management teams, conduct interviews with physician experts
  • Build and maintain financial models
  • Monitor sector developments, competitive landscape dynamics, new data releases, and capital markets activity
  • Synthesize the above information into actionable investment theses and effectively communicate the findings to the team

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in the life sciences (MD and/or Ph.D from a top tier university) AND 2-5 years of relevant work experience in life sciences investing (buyside or sell side)
  • Experience synthesizing highly complex information and developing actionable investment insights
  • Detail-oriented personality and a problem-solving mindset
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and a record of performance in a small, collaborative team environment
  • A desire to arrive at the right answer rather than be personally right
  • Ability to think critically and multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Able to listen well and evaluate ideas objectively and collaboratively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed
  • Must be able to work full time from our New York City office

Compensation:

The expected base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 commensurate with education and work experience and a full benefits package paid for by Invus. In addition, the Analyst will be considered for a competitive, annual discretionary bonus.
