Job Description
A long standing & top performing public equity long/short life sciences hedge fund is looking for an Analyst to join its team.
In this role, the junior Investment Professional will
- Support senior analysts conduct diligence on potential investments, including analysis of: preclinical assays, medical literature, clinical data, statistics, financial modeling, regulatory documents, SEC filings, intellectual property, valuation
- Attend medical conferences worldwide and perform field research with management teams, practicing physicians and research scientists
- Analyze industry trends and capital market dynamics
- Maintain and improve proprietary databases and tracking tools used by the investment team
- Work directly with the Portfolio Manager on portfolio metrics and reports

Qualifications:
**Strong academic background in a relevant scientific discipline (Masters, PhD, PharmD, MD, undergraduate hard science degree)**
* At least two years of relevant work experience (investment banking, equity research, consulting)
* Resourceful
* Articulate
* Self-motivated
* Extremely detail-oriented
* Strong passion for investing in biopharmaceuticals
* Must be able to synthesize complex data and concepts into readily digestible formats
* Capable of thinking creatively to solve problems
* Complete fluency in the English language to ensure effective collaboration among team members
* Prior experience and/or coursework in finance, accounting and/or economics with a demonstrated interest in the financial markets
* Strong modeling skills in Microsoft Excel, with a plus if there is familiarity of any programming languages such as Python
