Job Summary:
Invus is looking for an MD and/or Ph.D to join our seasoned investment team as an Associate. The Associate will work from Invus’ office in New York, NY and will focus on public and private investments in small- to mid-cap companies under the guidance of a Director. In this role, the Associate will support the process of evaluating potential investments, conduct independent research and analysis, and learn how to translate diligence into an investment thesis.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fundamental due diligence on existing and new potential investments. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Analyzing preclinical and clinical data for development stage therapies
- Searching for and analyzing medical/scientific literature
- Understanding treatment paradigms and areas of unmet need
- Participate in investor and medical conferences, interact with management teams, and conduct interviews with physician experts
- Build and maintain financial models
- Monitor of sector developments, competitive landscape dynamics, new data releases, and capital markets activity
- Synthesize the above information into an investment thesis and effectively communicate the findings to the team
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in the life sciences (MD and/or Ph.D from a top tier university) and 0-2 years of work experience in life sciences investing (buyside or sell side)
- Exceptional work ethic, detail-oriented personality, problem-solving mindset
- A desire to arrive at the right answer rather than be personally right
- Able to listen well and evaluate ideas objectively and collaboratively
- Ability to think critically and multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Works well independently as well as in a small team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed
- Must be able to work full time from our New York City office
Compensation:
The expected base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 commensurate with education and work experience and a full benefits package paid for by Invus. In addition, the Associate will be considered for a competitive, annual discretionary bonus.To Apply:
