Job Description:
Foresite Capital is seeking an Associate to hire for their investment team. This role entails close collaboration with the Therapeutics team to identify, assess, and manage biotech investment opportunities, specifically focusing on pre-clinical and clinical-stage therapeutics. You will be a part of an energetic team with the ability to contribute to a growing, entrepreneurial organization.
Responsibilities:

Conduct scientific, clinical and commercial analysis to support due diligence for investment opportunities, including but not limited to:

Create scientific diligence memos for various therapeutic areas of focus

Build / maintain financial models and understand industry trends as well as competitive dynamics for portfolio companies and prospective investments

Conduct due diligence with key opinion leaders and industry experts; take notes for company meetings and physician calls

Attend investor events, sell-side conferences, and medical meetings

Produce company-specific and general healthcare industry reports, presentations, and written summaries

Maintain internal databases relevant to new and existing drugs in development

Support other special projects / ad-hoc requests, as needed
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences from a top-tier academic institution; biopharma-related advanced degree (PhD/MD/PharmD) preferred, but not required

Minimum one year of experience in an investment banking, sell-side equity research, buy-side, or consulting role, with a focus in healthcare

Familiarity with all stages of the drug development process, including discovery research, lead selection and optimization, preclinical testing, IND-enabling studies, clinical trial design, and clinical trial execution

Understanding of human biology and physiology

Ability to assess the quality and reliability of published data, with a hunger for experimental details

Ability to work in a collaborative environment with other members of the investment team and thrive in a fast-paced and highly self-motivated professional culture

Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills, good attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writing

Highly motivated, strong work ethic

Outstanding organizational skills, able to multi-task and manage various deadlines
Compensation:
Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
Other: Annual discretionary bonus, attractive benefits package
