Job Description

Investment Associate for one of our fundamental healthcare teams, focused on public clinical-stage biotech investing. The Investment Associate will work closely with the Portfolio Manager to research investment ideas, utilizing a fundamental bottoms-up approach to stock selection in a market neutral context. Successful Investment Associates are given increasing responsibility and a clear path to progression into an Investment Analyst role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct fundamental research on clinical-stage biotech companies, including analysis of scientific and clinical data, trial design, competitive positioning, and probability of success
• Perform scientific due diligence and build company and drug-level financial models in Excel
• Identify, track, and analyze key catalysts, including clinical readouts, regulatory events, and earnings
• Develop and communicate clear long and short investment theses, including key risks and variant views
• Engage with company management teams, key opinion leaders, and industry experts, and attend relevant medical and investor conferences

Skillset Requirements:

• Advanced degree in biology or related sciences (M.D., Ph.D.) given strong preference, Minimum of B.S. in Biology or related field required
• Prior industry consulting, long-only and/or sell-side research experience not required, but preferred
• Excellent analytical and statistical analysis skills, with strong attention to detail
• Passion for fundamental analysis and demonstrated interest in biotech investing
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a hunger for learning
