Mubadala Capital – Ventures is the venture investing arm of Mubadala Capital, a global asset management firm investing across different geographies and asset classes, with over $15 billion assets under management. Our San Francisco-based fund invests primarily across healthcare and technology. Mubadala Capital offices are in Abu Dhabi, San Francisco, London, New York, and Rio De Janeiro.

The Healthcare and Biotechnology Investment Analyst role is an integral part of the Mubadala Capital – Ventures investment team, and through it you will:

  • Grow and hone your skills and gain a unique lens on global venture investing
  • Work on exciting projects (including in the areas of thesis development; investment process and diligence, and portfolio construction)
  • Meet founders and start-up teams that are working on cutting edge healthcare technologies and therapeutic platforms
  • Work closely and receive mentorship from the investment team

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Analyze industry trends and themes in biopharma and healthcare technologies, including key innovations, challenges/opportunities, and changes in the regulatory environment
  • Generate and present comprehensive reports and extract insights that will help the investment team in developing investment strategies and source investment opportunities
  • Building and maintaining financial models for key investments and target markets
  • Maintain a watchlist of funds and companies that can be potential partners and investment targets in areas of focus including biotechnology and healthcare technologies
  • Maintain a central database and generate quarterly reports summarizing key investment activities and overall performance of our partnerships/portfolio companies
  • Assisting with the broader investment team with special projects which includes the creation of periodical internal and external reporting, including but not limited to limited partner reporting

Attributes of the successful candidate include:

  • Undergraduate degree in biology, bioengineering, biomedicine, computational biology, or relevant majors. Graduate degree is a plus
  • At least 2-years of experience healthcare investment banking, healthcare equity research, or management consulting
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint guru
  • Strong data and financial modeling skills including the ability to analyze and model company financials
  • Ability to think creatively, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with quick turnaround and high quality
  • Comfort operating in a global environment and able to travel domestically and internationally
