Fairmount Funds Management LLC (Fairmount) is seeking a highly self‐motivated candidate to join our team as a Healthcare Analyst. Fairmount is a registered investment adviser with $1B+ AUM dedicated to investing in promising new biotechnology companies with a focus on differentiated therapeutics, robust research organizations, and experienced management teams. Fairmount has launched several biotech newcos, two of which have become public companies.  In this role, you will report to one of the two Partners and will contribute analyses that support the management of both existing and prospective investments. Fairmount has a hybrid work model.



  • Provide clear, concise, and accurate synthesis and effectively communicate preclinical and clinical data, as well as commercial and competitive landscapes, to support the Partner’s investment decision‐making
  • Evaluate and actively monitor scientific literature and clinical, preclinical, and commercial databases on assigned companies to ensure the Partner is fully apprised of upcoming datasets and presentations
  • Proactively engage in discussions with subject matter experts and industry participants (companies, funds)
  • Participate in scientific/medical conferences and provide cogent, digestible summaries of key takeaways
  • Monitor biotechnology news flow with attention to detail



  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, Finance, or Economics, minimum GPA of 3.5
  • 0‐3 years of work experience in healthcare investment banking, equity research, or consulting; 1‐2 years preferred
  • Strong desire to learn both the business and science of drug discovery and development
  • Intellectual curiosity to stay abreast of developments in a rapidly advancing field
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team, virtually or in person
  • Ability to multi‐task and prioritize across a range of projects in a fast‐paced setting, including the execution of both substantive and routine tasks ‐ we are a lean entrepreneurial team
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial attitude: keen to learn, take on new responsibilities, and innovate
  • Comfort with ambiguity, solid judgment, and the ability to apply critical thinking
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
