San Francisco-based Biotech Investment Fund Looking for a Figure-Outer (Analyst)

EcoR1 Capital, a San Francisco-based investment fund with a focus on public and venture investing in biotechnology therapeutics, is looking for a figure-outer to fill an Analyst role!

What is the meaning of figure-outer?

To figure out: 1. discover, determine. try to figure out a way to do it. 2. solve, fathom.

The world of biotech investing is complex – from market dynamics and political impact to clinical development hurdles and why commercial drugs spend most of their ad time on disclaimers (though the jingles are catchy). As therapeutic development becomes more specialized and success more idiosyncratic, our team must become increasingly creative to find the companies that are not only keeping up with the rapid rate of advancement, but who are ahead of the curve. The right candidate will:

Things you will be figuring out:

• Initiating and cultivating relationships with industry experts worldwide
• Reading, writing, and speaking the language of biotech
• Executing primary diligence on public and private companies across a variety of therapeutic areas
• Attending scientific conferences and medical meetings to be at the forefront of cutting-edge data
• Collecting, analyzing, and distributing relevant information for the team

Base Salary Range: $150-$350k
