Responsibilities:
Cantor Fitzgerald is seeking an Equity Research Associate to join its biotechnology research team. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who will work directly with Senior Research Analysts and contribute to industry-leading research efforts. The role offers significant exposure to company management teams, industry conferences, and institutional clients, along with opportunities for increased responsibility and career development.

  • Analyze individual biotechnology companies and market trends, producing company-specific and thematic research reports
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models
  • Interview physicians and Key Opinion Leaders across various disease areas
  • Conduct deep scientific and clinical due diligence
  • Perform scientific literature reviews
  • Collaborate with Cantor’s institutional sales force, traders, and investment clients

 

Educational Qualifications:

  • Exceptional academic pedigree, including a graduate degree in life sciences (Ph.D. and/or M.D. strongly preferred)
  • Clear demonstration of outstanding academic achievement
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in economics, business, or finance preferred

  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to research, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability and desire to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
  • Attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a strong interest in the biotechnology industry

 

Salary: $100,000 - $175,000
The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis considering a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
