Job Description:

We are seeking a M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) with a strong background in Data Analytics to join our dynamic health care investing team. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging your medical expertise and analytical skills to analyze claims data, patient outcomes, and support various health care initiatives. The position requires expertise in SQL and R, with additional knowledge of SAS and the Snowflake Platform considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Claims Data Analysis: Use your medical knowledge to perform in-depth analysis of health care claims data, particularly focusing on patient journey and outcomes
• Clinical Expertise: Apply clinical judgement and experience to research questions in support of health care investing, patient outcomes tracking, and portfolio company performance
• Data Compilation and Organization: Compile and organize health care data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
• Data Analysis: Employ your analytical skills to investigate data, identify patterns, and trends within the healthcare data, contributing to strategic decision-making.
• Data Management: Gain expertise in data storage and sharing methods, ensuring data security and compliance with industry regulations
• Data-driven Insights: Convert raw data into actionable information that is easy for stakeholders to understand, facilitating data-driven decision-making
• Reporting and Presentation: Develop synthesis (e.g. reports, presentations) that communicate analytic insights to management and key stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree (M.D.) with a strong clinical research, epidemiology, or outcomes research background
• Proven experience in analyzing healthcare claims data to answer clinical research questions, particularly in understanding patient journeys and outcomes
• Proficiency in SQL and R is required
• Familiarity with SAS, Snowflake Platform, and python is preferred but not required
• Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• The ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
