About the Role
We are seeking exceptional PhD candidates, MDs, and postdoctoral researchers to join our team as Biotech Investment Research Fellows. This role is designed as an intensive, apprenticeship-style experience for individuals looking to transition from academia into investing.
Fellows will learn the fundamentals of biotech investing by doing the work—conducting deep scientific diligence, analyzing clinical data, and developing investment perspectives alongside experienced investors. You will gain direct exposure to how fundamental research translates into real capital allocation decisions.
This is a highly immersive role for intellectually curious individuals who want to apply their scientific training in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct deep scientific diligence on biotech and therapeutics companies, including detailed analysis of:
- Drug mechanisms of action
- Preclinical and clinical data
- Trial design and endpoints
- Competitive landscapes across indications
- Translate complex scientific findings into clear, investment-relevant insights
- Build foundational skills in biotech valuation and financial modeling
- Track and interpret clinical readouts, regulatory events, and pipeline developments
- Participate in discussions with industry experts, physicians, and key opinion leaders
- Contribute to investment memos, presentations, and idea generation
- Attend scientific conferences and medical meetings (e.g., ASCO, AACR, AAN)
- How professional investors evaluate risk/reward in biotech investing
- How to connect scientific rigor with market expectations and stock performance
- Core concepts in equity research, valuation, and portfolio construction
- How to develop and defend differentiated investment theses
Who You Are
- Currently completing or have completed a PhD, MD, or postdoc in:
- Biology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related field
- Deep understanding of molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, pharmacology, biostatistics and/or disease biology
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret scientific literature independently
- Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to learn investing from first principles
- Clear communicator who can distill complex ideas into concise insights
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- No prior finance experience is required

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $175,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, skills, role scope, and performance. This range represents the Company’s good-faith estimate at the time of posting and does not include discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or benefits. The Company may also provide discretionary bonus compensation and a benefits package, subject to eligibility and applicable plan terms.
