Associate/ Senior Associate


Based in the Bay Area, U.S.

Reporting Line:

Senior Management Team of LAV

Key Responsibilities

(including but not limiting to)












  • Being part of the integrated LAV investment team, with a strategic focus on researching investment ideas on various healthcare-related companies across the global marketplace to generate late stage investment opportunities (cross-over, IPO, PIPE and stock picks).

  • Conduct due diligence work on target companies (incl. performing market research, industry, and sector analysis, business & financial analysis, developing financial model, making expert calls, etc.)

  • Monitor existing portfolios, attending earnings calls, medical conferences, and investor conferences, track and report the business performance, identify key issues and possible solutions, etc.

  • Perform systematic mapping of global public healthcare companies in disease areas of LAV’s strategic interests, and closely working with LAV deal colleagues as the “go-to” person for LAV investment team in public companies

  • Flexibility to participate in private investment deals

  • Other ad hoc work

Key Requirement









  • Education: B.S. degree in life science related fields such as Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Chemistry, etc. and a related advanced M.D., Ph.D. or MBA degree is preferred

  • Working experiences: at least 2 years of full-time experiences gained from top-tier management consulting firms, investment banking, sell/buy-side equity research, or BD/strategy functions from major pharmaceutical or med-tech companies

  • CFA is highly preferred

  • Language Skills: Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin)

  • Intellectual honesty, diligence and excellent analytical skills are key success factors for the position

  • Having strong interpersonal and communication skills with proactive attitude and good team spirits

  • With high level of professionalism and compliance  

  • Curiosity and desire to learn is critical

  • Ideal candidates are self-motivated, resourceful, energetic and self-confident

  • Some level of travel is required
