Role Overview
TCG Labs is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Analyst/Associate to join our investment team. The individual in this role will work closely with team members to identify, evaluate, and support new investment opportunities in biotechnology while building toward increasing project ownership as part of their professional growth within the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific foundation, excellent quantitative and communication skills, and a genuine passion for translating groundbreaking science into therapies that benefit patients.
Responsibilities
- Stay current with trends in biotechnology, including attending medical and scientific conferences across therapeutic areas and modalities
- Engage with academic researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry experts to support sourcing and diligence efforts.
- Support the investment team in identifying and evaluating novel therapeutic opportunities through deep scientific, clinical, and market research.
- Support due diligence analyses, including preclinical and clinical data review, competitive landscape mapping, and intellectual property assessment.
- Contribute to the Development of investment memos and presentations.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree or 0–2 years of experience in biotechnology investing, equity research, consulting, or industry R&D.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex scientific and market information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated passion for the biotechnology industry and translating science into patient impact.
Location
This position is based in TCG Labs’ office in South San Francisco. Some domestic and international travel is required to attend medical and scientific conferences.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes competitive base salary and performance-based incentives.
