Overland Pharma is a newly founded biopharma company wholly owned by a leading Asia-focused global investment fund with over $60B under management. Our vision is to become a game changer in bridging innovative and important medicines to underserved patients in Asia/China through leveraging our unparalleled biopharma ecosystem and long-term capital. We are building a first-rate business development and corporate strategy team in the US to partner with innovative biopharma companies and establish a diverse pipeline of products in a few carefully selected therapeutic areas.
We are a teamwork-oriented company in a startup environment and are looking for an experienced individual with entrepreneurial spirit and track record of leadership in scientific and commercial diligence as well as corporate strategy to join the team.
This role will be responsible for defining and implementing corporate strategy as well as business evaluation of partnering opportunities. This role will be key in driving those activities to achieve strategic goals and financial objectives for sustainable long-term growth of the company.
Working with management team to define company’s business and disease strategy.
Executing corporate strategy by identifying partnering opportunities and seeking collaboration from potential partners.
Leading the development of business cases including, scientific rational, unmet medical needs, product value proposition, market assessment revenue forecast and P&L for target molecules/indications.
Exploring various market intelligence resources for market insight, including relevant market data (e.g. disease & procedure data), databases, secondary research reports, etc.
Evaluating the opportunities under different scenarios; able to assess and translate significant quantities of data into information and discern key findings.
Identifying and assessing overall market environment (including economic, political, sociological and technological), key industry and stakeholder trends (e.g. patients, providers, physicians, payors, and policy makers).
Analyzing emerging growth opportunities, challenges and potential market disruptions with significant business implications; capturing latest development of technologies and applications in healthcare.
Representing the company at disease conferences and business meetings.
Some domestic and international travels are needed.
Skills and Competencies:
Has demonstrated successful experience and knowledge in leveraging cross-functional skills found in healthcare companies that enable programs to succeed.
Business, scientific and financial skills.
Conceptual and analytical skills, including solid understanding of relevant commercial, business, development and scientific issues.
Highly articulate in both individual and group settings with excellent written skills for PowerPoint and Word documents.
Requires heightened intelligence, mature business judgment, an elevated work ethic, personal warmth and rich imagination.
Has the ability to influence a broad range of constituents, including scientific and business internally and externally.
Efficient time management with multi-tasking ability is essential.
Fluent in Mandarin and English.
Advanced scientific or medical degree (Ph.D or M.D) or MBA plus a BS/MS in biomedical science highly preferred.
