Job Description –

Middle market investment bank seeks motivated, focused candidate for equity research associate position on biotechnology team.  Position is based in New York.  Associate will work closely with senior analysts to support broad biotech coverage list.

Responsibilities:

·         Fully support the senior biotech analyst, working closely on day-to-day basis

·         Build and maintain all financial models

·         Author research notes based on primary research, company, and investor input

·         Write initiation reports

·         Maintain active lists of upcoming medical meetings, catalysts, and investor and regulatory events

Minimum requirements:

·         MD, PharmD, or PhD in Biochemistry / Biology / Chemistry preferred

·         Strong knowledge or desire to learn financial modeling

·         Highly detail-oriented

·         Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

·         Proactive, driven to produce forward-looking ideas

·         Strong written and communication skills, ability to speak professionally with senior and company management

·         Strong interest in clinical, regulatory, and financial aspects of biotechnology

·         Highly proficient in MS Excel

·         Dedicated to seeing tasks to completion, regardless of time commitment required
