Analyst / Senior Analyst — Biopharma (Long/Short Equity)

The Opportunity

We are running a confidential search for a recent 2025 launch hedge fund (~$600M AUM) focused on biotechnology. The fund is seeking to add an Analyst / Senior Analyst to its healthcare investment team. The strategy runs both long and short, with a heavy emphasis on event-driven investing. 

Responsibilities

Work with the firm’s Portfolio Manager to source, research, and diligence long and short investments across the therapeutics universe.

Perform fundamental diligence, including analysis of preclinical and clinical data, market opportunity, competitive dynamics, and valuation.

Construct trades going into binary events.

Qualifications

1–4 years of buy-side experience in biotechnology hedge funds (long/short or event-driven).

Technical / scientific background required. An advanced degree (MD / PhD) is preferred but not required.

Experience on both the long and short side.

Rigorous and detail-oriented; intellectually curious and open to feedback.

Please note that experience in biotechnology is a requirement.

Compensation & Logistics

Base salary of $200,000. The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.

Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on fund and individual performance.

In-person role based in New York City.
